Needing inspiration…

I’ve not been able to write this week. I have three works-in-progress that need my attention but there’s stuff going on at home that needs my attention first. HOWEVER, when the time comes, I have some new inspiration I found on Madelynne Ellis’s blog. This Japanese pop singer Gackt whom I’d never heard of.

Wow! Is all I can say and he definitely fits the description for Yuzo in my current White Tigers series. Men of Tokyo: Sudden Surrender, excerpt coming soon.

Just finished reading: Samurai Girl Book 3 - This Young Adult series rocks! I’m totally hooked.
Just watched: Moonlight, first season. John O’Laughlin as a sexy vamp/private detective. Yum!
Also just watched: The Best of Top Gear - love this British show with the three funny guys doing funky things with cars. Hilarious!

By the way, here’s the blurb for Men of Tokyo: Sudden Surrender: In desperation for his life, Yuzo Kitano escapes the sadistic clutches of Taro Suzuki, one of Tokyo’s fiercest yakuza, and seeks refuge with Suzuki’s arch-rival, Kikuchiya Fujimara, owner of the White Tiger, a luxurious love-hotel for gay men which also serves as a spiritual community for its inhabitants. From early meetings with the handsome, charismatic leader who trains men in the sexual Tao, Yuzo senses deep inside he’s found someone he can trust and who will keep him safe. What he doesn’t expect is the absolute sensual bliss he finds with Kikuchiya’s skilled lovemaking and realizes he’s found what he’s really wanted his whole life. But does Kiku want him in return?

At first, Kiku sees only Yuzo’s alluring beauty and desperate need for protection. But the headstrong impulsive Yuzo is also the first man Kiku has ever met whose touch is healing and calming for him, rather than a distressing channel for his psychic abilities, and the more he makes love to Yuzo, the more Kiku is in danger of losing his heart to another for the first time in his life.

However, Kiku also knows that when Suzuki finds out where his slave has gone, there will be hell to pay. Kiku has already made one harrowing sacrifice to the yakuza in return for his freedom and might not survive a second…

Gorgeous guy time!

I’ve been watching that vampire/cop show, New Amsterdam. And yes, it’s a recycling of a familiar theme (like Forever Knight). However, Danish-born actor Nikolaj Koster-Waldau, makes this show worth watching!

Brad Pitt -yum!

Brad Pitt was born in Oklahoma and raised in Springfield, Missouri. His mother’s name is Jane Etta Hillhouse. His father, William (Bill) Pitt, worked in management at a trucking firm in Springfield. He has a younger brother, Douglas (Doug) Pitt and a younger sister Julie Neal Pitt. At Kickapoo High School, Pitt was involved in sports, debating, student government and school musicals. Pitt attended the University of Missouri, where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He occasionally acted in fraternity shows. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California. Before he became successful at acting, Pitt supported himself by driving strippers in limos, moving refrigerators and dressing as a giant chicken while working for “el Pollo Loco.”

BJ Penn

I love watching BJ Penn fight. I don’t know how many of you are into MMA (mixed martial arts) but Penn is exciting to watch. He’s incredibly fast and flexible - must be the Jiu Jitsu - he can wangle a guy into submission with his legs at any angle. It’s quite something. And well, as a female writer of erotic romance, there are other effects of watching this kind of fighting.

Jesse Spencer

You may know him from House, oh, I love that show and can’t think of his character’s name. But Jesse Spencer is adorable. Whenever I see him I can totally picture him as a character in a yaoi manga.

The best Bond - yum!

Was in the mood for a hunk today. Many people feel Daniel Craig has been the best James Bond. I have to agree. He’s rugged and incredibly masculine. And that first chase scene! Wow, one of the best I’ve ever seen on film. I sure hope we get to see more of him as Bond.

My Favorite samurai

Even before my blog was formed, I knew that this was the first real post I wanted to make. Those of you who know me already know that I’m crazy about Toshiro Mifune, one of Japan’s greatest actors (and of the world, really.) Aside from the man I love, to me he was one of the handsomest men ever and to see him on film, he’s nothing short of captivating.

The great irony is that he didn’t even set out to be an actor. He was at the studio for a camera job or something like that and the studio people thought he was there to audition. When the misunderstanding came out he started to leave but he caught the eye of an old-time actor whos aw something in him and told the others not to let him get away. They convinced Toshiro Mifune to audition and said to pretend he’s drunk. So he did. It happened that Akira Kurosawa, a new rising director at the time, was watching him from the sidelines and was so impressed, he brought him onto his current project. Well, anyone who’s ever watched Kurosawa’s films from that period knows what happened. A collaboration of 20 years that made magic on film. Please, ladies, tell me, I’m not the only one who’s heartbeat rises here!
